Quoten san ja ganz lecker [[sabber]]
Ich sehe hier auch ganz leichte Vorteile für die Kanadier, aber im Endeffekt ist mir das Spiel doch zu offen, also auch für mich ein No-Bet Spiel.

        Halbfinale---Part I+II

        Preview: USA vs. Sweden
Matchup: USA vs. Sweden, 20.15, Sazka Arena

        USA:
These teams hooked up last weekend, and although the final score was 3-1 Sweden, that's a deceiving piece of information and doesn't adequately reflect the closeness of the game. Jonas Hoglund scored early on, but Bates Battaglia replied midway through the second to tie the score for the Americans. It was a tight game from start to finish, and only a late, empty-net tally by Michael Nylander made the game seem less close. The truth is, the Americans gave the Swedes all they could handle, so in tonight's game the underdogs will know they can play with their opponents. Mike Dunham was in goal that night, but after Ty Conklin's great performance agsinst the Czechs--which included stopping all five penalty shots in the game-winning shots competition--coach Peter Laviolette will likely go back to the Oilers' goalie again today. Conklin isn't the flashiest goalie, and he doesn't have the best stats, but he is undefeated here in the Czech Republic (three wins and a tie) and has managed to allow one fewer goal than the opposition. The Americans have scored a good number of goals, though most have come against weaker teams, and their special teams are nothing to brag about, which is too bad because the Swedes are one of the leaders in penalties taken. If the USA could jumpstart its power play (just six goals in seven games), it could put the pressure on the Swedes. The attack has been led offensively by a lesser light: Richard Park of the Minnesota Wild, tops the team in both goals (4) and points (7), though it's difficult to anticipate this game by saying that "as Park goes, so goes the USA." The key to this game is to follow the coach's plan, to play with emotion and intensity, and play a physical, North American game. Europeans might laugh, but the fact that ESPN2 is showing this game back home will definitely be a motivating factor for the USA. Nonetheless, the Americans should be considered the underdogs tonight--just don't count them out.

Sweden: Regardless what kind of a game it was, Sweden beat this same USA team last week and knows it is capable of doing so again. To make matters worse for the Americans, Tre Kronor will have both Peter Forsberg and Nicklas Lidstrom in the lineup, two all-world talents that can only make this team even better. The Swedes have an undefeated record so far with five wins and two ties, and a sparkling goals differential of 21-7. Henrik Lundqvist will be in goal for the team, as he has played all but 14:29 of the seven games to date. While their penalty killing has been excellent, Tre Kronor has struggled badly with the man advantage. On 42 chances, they have scored but five times for a skimpy 11.9 percent success rate, ahead of only Germany and France in the tournament. Obviously, the addition of the two aforementioned ousted NHLers will make a huge difference here. Despite the team's success, no one player has stood out as a dominating force, as Dany Heatley has for Canada or Thomas Vanek did for Austria. Daniel Alfredsson leads the team with just five points, and only he, Dick Tarnstrom, and Jonas Hoglund have three goals. Alfredsson's totals make him a distant 19th in the tournament scoring derby. Two of Hoglund's tallies came against the Americans last time out, so perhaps he can be expected to be a contributor tonight. Team defense is where you'll find the greatest gap, and the Swedes should be able to shut down the USA's thinly distributed offense. The Swedes have far more talent than their opponents, and if they play to their abilities, they will win. Saying it and doing it are different things altogether, though, and that's why we play the games.

Ich hatte noch 1o € auf die 6.00 SWE Weltmeister bei b2b gesetzt, sind weg jetzt, sonst noch um die 2.40 glaube ich......

        Schweden wird Weltmeister!

        Preview: Slovakia vs. Canada
Slovakia vs. Canada, 16.15, Sazka Arena

Slovakia: Are you wondering how Canada's new opponent stacks up? While Slovakia's goaltender, Jan Lasak, may have fewer NHL credentials than Finland's Mika Noronen, he knows how to win at the IIHF World Championship, with medals in three out of the last four tournaments, and he's been impeccable so far. And while you can argue the overall Finnish defense corps is better than Slovakia's, the Slovaks have an incredible array of offensive weapons. The still-unbeaten Slovaks will match up well against Canada today. Their power play percentage is virtually identical (20.59 to Canada's 20.93), as is their penalty-killing (92.59 to Canada's 93.75). Will this game be decided at even strength? The Slovaks enjoy home ice advantage and the last line change, so if they want to pit the monstrous Zdeno Chara against Dany Heatley, they have that option. And after considering the way Chara has played against the likes of Mats Sundin in the NHL playoffs, this would be a good way to go. They need someone who can handle Heatley physically and log a ton of minutes, and Chara fits the bill. Meanwhile, Richard Lintner will be doing his best to generate offense from the back end, entering tonight's action as the tournament's leading scorer among defensemen with two goals and three assists. His eagerness to jump up and join the rush hasn't hurt him so far, as his plus-minus rating is tied with Chara's at +6. Up front, the Slovaks have clearly demonstrated, both at this tournament and in the past, that they can kill you with speed, stickhandling, passing and shooting if you let them get loose. The quartet of Pavol Demitra, Miroslav Satan, Marian Hossa, and Marian Gaborik has combined for 13 goals and 15 assists to this point. But you can be sure that the Team Canada coaching staff watched the Slovakia-Switzerland quarter-final closely, and they'll have observed that playing the Slovaks hard along the walls and cutting off passing lanes in the neutral zone is an effective strategy. Dictating the tone early and avoiding costly turnovers will be keys to success for both teams.

Canada: Unlike the Stanley Cup playoffs, the Final Round of the IIHF World Championship offers no chance to "rebound from a tough loss." You literally have to get better with each game. Canada took a huge step with a tough, well-played 5-4 overtime win over Finland in the quarter-finals Thursday. Today's opponent, Slovakia, is a whole new proposition. Canada must be ready at every level. Goalie Roberto Luongo came through in Grant Fuhr-like fashion against Finland, making just enough saves at key times to get his team through. He will stop just about anything he can see, so it'll be a priority for the Canadian defense to keep his sightlines clear, as well as not letting him get stretched out by the Slovaks' clever passing plays. The mobile, physical Canadian blueliners must ensure they don't get caught up ice, as well, because the Slovaks love to get opportunistic on the attack. Scott Niedermayer brings invaluable big-game experience from his 2002 Olympic gold medal and three Stanley Cups with New Jersey, but must remember to keep his composure even under trying circumstances--his retaliatory cross-check versus Finland after taking an unpenalized high-stick was one of the few cases, apart from the Czech game, where the Canadians have gotten away from their disciplined approach. The rest of Canada's defensemen have picked up their performance, but obviously there's still room to tighten up after yielding four goals to Finland. Dany Heatley is, quite simply, The Man up front, and if the Slovaks can't contain his physical presence and puckhandling skills, he could decide today's result by himself, along with clever playmaker Daniel Briere. Canada has enjoyed a balanced attack, with every forward except Justin Williams contributing at least one point. And the checking of Brenden Morrow, Matt Cooke, and Ryan Smyth will likely pay dividends if they can get a good forecheck going early. In any case, this will be no cakewalk. Canada holds a 2-1-2 advantage overall from its five World Championship meetings with Slovakia, but no game was decided by more than one goal, and the Slovaks won the last encounter, 3-2, in the 2002 quarter-finals.
