West Ham - Millwall

All the goals were scored by Defoe, who was in devastating form. Millwall have succeeded in scraping home a couple of wins against Wimbledon and Walsall, but they have not exactly impressed. You have to go to the first match of the season to find a really great Millwall result - 2-0 against Wigan. Little did we know then, that this result was impressive. OK, to scrape home wins should not be underestimated, and Millwall are actually in a play off position right now. Still, I back the home win, and the price is 1.75.

Bradford - Sheffield United

I like Sheffield U away to Bradford, and the price on the away win is 2.25. S U did not care about the Carling Cup this year, and featured many reserves against QPR in midweek (0-2 loss.) Good news for the club was the return of key player Michael Brown. Robert Page is still out however. Bradford will be without their ex-Middlesbrough defender Jason Gavin. Bradford are at best a decent side, and thanks to disciplined play they manage a positive surprise every now and then, often in away matches. Sheffield U, a superior side, should win this away game (2.25).

Rotherham - Gillingham

Maybe this win will turn their depressing league run, and I choose to back Rotherham at home to Gillingham (2.38). It is always difficult to assess Gillingham, talk about an erratic side! After some poor displays they have defeated both W Ham and Stoke, 2-0 wins! This is just a hunch, as I have no real convincing arguments. Time for Rotherham to collect a three pointer. A home win, and the price is 2.38.

Nottingham Forrest - Derby

Nottingham should defeat Derby, and the price is 1.80! This is a big game for both clubs - a hot derby! Nottingham looked to be at top of the world against Crewe for an hour, but unexpectedly Crewe changed things around and was rewarded with a 3-1 win. Maybe Nottingham, having won some matches quite easily lately, thought it was all over, I do not know, but I do know that Nottingham seldom give anything away at the City Ground. Derby will be without their key defender Michael Johnson once again. When Derby played Sunderland last week, the Sunderland keeper, Poom, scored an equalizer with a header in the last minute. It was a fair result, and Sunderland were the slightly better team on the day. On Saturday I back Nottingham, and the price is 1.80.

Watford - Ipswich

Can Watford defeat Ipswich on Saturday? Ipswich have injury problems, and losing to Notts County in the Carling Cup was not that big a sensation. They have these old injuries to deal with, but now Diallo is out, and both Mahon and Richards are extremely doubtful starters on Saturday. Young Darren Bent could also be sidelined. Coach Royle is talking about making some loan deals before this match. Watford, mostly shooting blanks, miss Micah Hyde once again, but they have loaned Stephen Kelly from Tottenham. Backing Watford is more an anti-Ipswich bet, if you see what I mean! A home win, and the price is 2.50.

Cardiff - Crewe

Cardiff have lost their two latest matches, away to top contenders Reading and Sheffield U. They did themselves proud in these games, and I suggest that they have kept their good form intact. Losing to W Ham in the cup was painful, as they were 2-0 up, but the good news for Cardiff was the return of their Welsh international Danny Gabbidon. Also Bowen featured against W Ham, and Earnshaw was in terrific form again, scoring a smashing goal. Time for a Cardiff win again, this time at home to Crewe. Crewe lost to Leicester in the cup in mid week, but it was a close affair, and a penalty settled the issue. Young Edwards played alongside Ashton up front, and he is expected to do so again on Saturday. Probably the youngest forward pairing in the division. Two talented sides, and I put my money on the home win for Cardiff. The price, nothing much (1.75).

sheff. hat zwar das letzte spiel gegen qpr verloren, spielte
jedoch die 2 partien zuvor einen recht ansehlichen und trefferreichen
fussball gegen cardiff zuhause 5:3 und rotherham auch zuhause 5:0.

jedoch noch ausschlaggebend ist f?ich die direkte begegnung, die
doch sehr klar f?heffield spricht.
